What are you? "Part 2 - Mind Defined!"

"Whole person consists of Mind, Heart (Emotion), Body, and Soul (Spirit)"

On last Saturday night, my brother and I were heading to Kuantan driving through Sungai Tong Terengganu when suddenly, tragically two tires at the right hand side of the car bumped into a deep sharp-edge pothole. With 120km/h speed to take over a speeding-like-F1 lorry, the tires flatten right away with huge tears on them and the car marched straight to the right side of the road edge. Well done to my brother as he managed to hold the steering tight, and well done to us as no traffic coming from the front, otherwise we're "done"!

While my brother kept "resisting to accept what had happened" which was shown by his grieve and words "If only i could see" and then "Argkh, why should you be here pothole?!! At this time, late night.." I can't remember what I "felt" at that particular time.

But I remember I told him "Rileks, this is going to be a new challenging experience for us, It is tonite!" and I smiled..

I looked around, palm oil tree was everywhere, silence struck my "mind" triggered "its" memories of ghost, nightmares, Jgn pandang Belakang, all that sort of memories and then projected in my mind like a movie what would happen to me "later" based on "its" input-output logic. And then my "mind" sent a message to my body's "physiology" to act out "the fear" in form of quivering, nervousness, "meremang bulu roma" and definitely my heart started to pump more oxygen to my cells.

As a component of your mind, "emotion" is a reaction of your mind reflected by your body. Emotion arises where your mind and body meet. When you are scolded, your mind will resist to accept that and will defend your identity, then it is when your mind contact with your body, anger arises. Your ears hot up, your heart starts pumping hard and fast, and your mouth "unthinkingly" says " *&^%^$()*&.." :-)

Back to the scene, I was "present" to see "them" trying to persuade "me". Then I smiled again. I told my mind then "You couldn't make it, I knew more than that!"

Our mind and form are part of our precious belongings. They are powerful tools equipped to us to use to survive. We must be "present" to measure them in order to manage them and to use them effectively. If we are absent, they will instead take over us and "run" us the way they used to be.

Mind works on "time basis" either past time or what we call "memory" and future time or what we call "anticipation". Our memories define our identity, the identity will forecast our anticipation. The desiring energy to fulfill the anticipation driven by our identity is called "ego". When somebody try to interrupt or to change our forecast, our desire to see things go our way, our mind will instruct us to resist.

When mind wants life to be this way, it should be this way, not otherwise. When mind's desire fulfilled, it wants more. Ego will never full, it always wants more!

With ego, we will keep resisting to accept things that happened not the way we want. The resistance will create stress, resentment, unhappiness or any negative energy inside you as what we call "pain". When it breaches the maximum limit these "pains" will attack people around you including yourself, their host.

"In the name of time, human are always loosing"

When we run our life according to our time-base egoic mind, we definitely are wasting our life. We are always loosing our moment to enjoy what we have, because our mind will always want more. At the time we get what we want, we will want more. We may feel happy for a good fortune, but commonly it won't last forever. We don't realize, the moment we "are" being, we already perfect. It is NOW, we are perfect. If you want to feel this perfection which is "you", you have to isolate yourself from your mind. Build the timeless feeling. See and feel things as merely they are without priorly screened by your mind. You will always happy and when good fortune comes you will simply get happier!

You have to have faith!

When my two of car tires flattened in the middle of palm oil farm, I felt my mind was working for me due to its past and future time process, but I knew it was not what I wanted. Instead, I accepted that as it was. It was a moment in my life which I will go through, and I enjoyed it. I enjoyed replacing car tires in the dark night, driving a flattened-tire car, slept in the car. I enjoyed every moment of the nite!

"To appreciate what you have "now" is to appreciate your life entirely"

I enjoyed spending RM550 to fix the car, because I "believe" when something is not mine, then it is not mine any way! Just let it go and smile :-)

"To accept things as it is, is to "believe" in Qada and Qadar, thus to believe in Allah"

When you are fully timelessly "present" to watch your mind and manage it, you will never do things to feed your ego. You enjoy doing good things. You will be emotionally stable. You will think and act necessarily. This is "original" human. Islam wants to dig this "akhlak" out of you. It is already there, but your mind is too busy to interfere.

Thus, take time to separate yourself from the noise. Late night, see God. Get the feeling, overcome the fear. InsyaAllah, you will be there.

Me? Hurrmmm.. still far away.. :-(
